you can check out all of the excellent nominees and thank you in advance for
your support.
As for the February 2004 issue, this month we have the following record
reviews:
Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of the newest releases from
RockFour, Jeff Kelly of The Green Pajamas, The Emergency and The Afternoons.
Mike also has capsule reviews of Oneida, Scott Laurent, a reissue of the
debut EP from The Ms, Field Trip, David Dondero, Aerospace, Her Majestys
Buzz, The Smallgoods and Moonbabies.
Gary Glauber reviews the latest from Easterly, Edward Rogers, The Honeydogs
and Splitsville.
Kurt Sampsel reviews The Deep Six, while David Fufkin weighs in on the new
album from Air.
Fufkin.com has two pieces relating to the 40th anniversary of The Beatles
invasion of America. Michael Lynch has a play-by-play account of the Fab
Fours debut on Ed Sullivan, while Gary Pig Gold does a special Beatles Top
40.
Fufkin.com is proud to welcome Alan Haber, the former host of Pure Pop
Radio. Mr. Haber uses The Beatles 40th Anniversary hoopla to examine the
relevance of melodic rock and roll in todays world.
And its welcome back to James Baumann, who returns from hiatus to give you
his take on the best discs of last year.
Frank Sinatra and Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys. You normally dont see
them discussed together. However, Kurt Hernon finds some common ground in
an incisive commentary.
David Fufkin comments on the Janet Jackson halftime scandal.
Mike Bennetts February column features an interesting aside about
Crapalanche and some navel gazing about the role of mainstream rock critics.
Eric Sorensens Further Observations From A Jangly Music Fan is the usual
slew of musical delights, including Erics thoughts on the reissue of Ric
(Velvet Crush) Mencks solo album, The Gurus, Denise James, Jackson Rohm,
The Syrups, Chris Church and lots more.
It was a rainy January in Singapore, giving Kevin Mathews a bit more time to
listen to a stack of discs from folks like Jeremy, The Shins, Blank Pages,
Jaimie Vernon, The Rubinoos, Simply Saucer, the late Gene Clark and others.
We hope you all come and visit us.
