> The two EWG follow-ups have some pop happening in them - "Shock Treatment"
and "EWG with Rick Derringer." The former is easily found as a budget
item, and the latter is
a hard-to-find Japanese import (on CD anyway). "Shock Treatment" is
probably the more pop of the two, including the original version of "Easy
Street" which was covered by David Lee Roth.
And a drop-dead-Zeppelin imitation on "Queen Of My Dreams". Dan Hartman
(before going all disco on us) was a perfect middle ground between Edgar's
jazz/r&b chops and Derringer's guitar pop chestnuts. I'm a huge Derringer
fan, and even I have to cringe at the lyrics in "Modern Love", but the band
could rock and the harmonies were great. I probably saw them a dozen times
with that line-up (sadly missed the Montrose edition).
And sign me up alongside the people who revere ENTRANCE...what an
outstanding record!
