Here's the problem with the audio cues for telling if these guys are serious 
or not:

The Vines. The Hives. The White Stripes.

I thought *these* bands were jokes. Turns out I was dead wrong (according to 
the world press and millions of album sales later). So, now that a band like 
The Darkness shows up with even less originality in a fistful of kitsche 
'70s riff rip-offs what the hell am I supposed to think now?

Oh, those guys were serious...THESE guys are comedians.

Sorry. The whole scene has been one big turn off. Bad production. Bad 
performing. Bad songwriting.

Sheesh, I'm starting to sound like my parents when I brought home the first 
Clash record...

God, I'm gettin' old...and intolerant.
