for me personally, there's only two kinds of music...good and bad. I think (again, to ME) that vocals are highly important. So while someone like Dylan or Petty might have wrote some great songs, but thanks to the shit vocals (again, IMHO) I won't be listening to them anytime soon. There WAY too much good music to waste my time as it is...

At the end of the day...musical taste = to each their own

I wouldn't agree, to be honest. And I don't think it's relevant with regard 
to the Darkness. It's obviously a reason why you don't like them, but you 
don't seem to have the thing in your head that counters this by saying, 
"It's a joke; they don't have to be great at singing. It's still funny. In 
fact, it's funnier because of the ludicrous falsetto and posturing." We're 
just wired up differently. Vivre la difference.
