Interesting to note that Mary shows up in both Muehleisen songs that were
recently mentioned: "I Remember Mary" and "Salon and Saloon" ("Mary,
Mary/Must you go so soon?/We must be a sight to see/Salon and saloon/I'll
look you up soon/Maybe sing you a tune....")

Also, it must be noted that Muehleisen was an utterly awe-inspiring
guitarist, and a critical (if occasionally overlooked) component in Croce's
commercial success between 1972 and 74. In the thirty years since his
passing in the same plane crash as Croce, I don't think I've heard another
guitarist who was able to coax such warm, delicate licks out of an acoustic
guitar.

Finally--as long as we're on the topic--Shout! Factory has announced plans
to release Jim Croce's "Facets" LP as a 2 CD set on March 23.
(http://www.shoutfactory.com/selection/104/Jim_Croce_Facets.html) His first
ever solo recording, "Facets" was self-released by Croce in 1966, only 500
copies were ever made. As far as collectibles go, the original "Facets" LP
makes Muehleisen's "Gingerbreadd" look like "Thriller"!
