I never got to see them, even though they opened for the Kinks at BCT. I do
like Straight Up. I'd Die Babe is one of my all time fave songs. I can play
this one through, especially the cd with the original versions. I do like
Wish You Were Here as well. An old girl friend of mine loved that one, and
probably got me to listen to it a lot more than I might have. I don't know
if I've listened to Ass since it came out.

I just think they fell between too many cracks at the time. At least they
had hits, can't say that about Big Star. I think they didn't have enough
identity to make it in a big way.

From the live stuff I've heard, they were pretty heavy. Don't forget they
came from that South Wales scene like Man and Edmunds. I had a fun night
drinking with Micky Gibbons at the Tenby in Swansea, way back in '75. There
are times when they truck along in the best of ways.
