I'm guessing if you cared you got this already, but
thought I ought to pass it along nevertheless....
Hey Good Lookin' (s) -
The original plan was to give our forthcoming third
record a title that wasn't such a mouthful. But
suggested mono-syllabic titles sucked, "Bosnia" was
already taken (What? You haven't heard of the
latter-day Grand Funk Railroad's rippin' 1997 live
set?), and "Bigger Lovers III" seemed a bit
Zeppelin-esque. So, we arrived at "This Affair Never
Happened... And Here Are Eleven Songs About It." Kinda
rolls off the tongue, don't it??
"This Affair..." will be available through Yep Roc
Records on March 9 at finer record stores and Web
merchants across North America. The European release
(also through Yep Roc) will occur right around the
same time.
SPECIAL BONUS: Purchase "This Affair..." early through
www.yeproc.com and receive a special bonus EP with a
couple of unreleased tracks and an "obscure covers
medley." You might be afforded the same bonus through
some brick and mortar stores; we're not quite sure
just yet.
So, touring. Ah yes, touring. There'll be some. Rest
assured we'll be coming your way at some point. There
are but a few dates confirmed at this point, a
smattering more of the unconfirmed variety, and then
some more to come after that. There's a fightin'
chance we might even finally get over to Europe this
year. For right now, here's what we can tell you:
Feb. 28 - West Chester, PA, Rex's (w/ Wise & Foolish
Builders)
March 9 - Philadelphia, PA, Tower Records Ave. of the
Arts (time TBA)
March 13 - Philadelphia, PA, North Star Bar (Big
drunken record release throw-down. Details and support
acts TBA)
March 18 - Austin, TX, SXSW Yep Roc showcase (details
TBA)
In the meantime, we'll be banging the wood and wire in
our new South Philadelphia rehearsal space, whipping
the new tunes into shape, dusting some old ones off,
giving the Web site an overhaul to reflect the new
record's brightly hued artwork, watching "Curb Your
Enthusiasm" re-runs waiting for the "Crazy Eyez Killa"
episode, cursing the Eagles, counting down the days
'til pitchers and catchers, eatin' puddin', kickin'
ass, takin' names, playing fantasy arena league
football, hoping to catch one of HBO's seven daily
airings of "Arthur 2 - On the Rocks," and thinking
warm thoughts. Really warm thoughts.
