As a huge fan of _Like This_ and _The Sound Of Music_, I hear what Sam is
saying,
but it's almost the work of two totally different bands. They got a lot less
musically "quirky" (and more grounded in the types of roots rock that Peter
would
pursue later on) after Chris left, that's for sure -- but some of those
songs
from the first two albums are just freakin' brilliant.

Plus, you have to include _Mavericks_ in their joint body of work, which
swings
the pendulum WAY back in favor of them working (or at least playing)
together again.

(By the way, Mr. Holsapple has been responding to the fervent posts on the
dB's
messageboard begging for more Stamey/Holsapple shows together (full
disclosure:
many of them from me!) with his usual wry, self-deprecating detachment,
including
sharing his eagerness to see exactly how Klymaxx gets back together again on

"Bands Reunited".) :-)
