You are not making this up.. As the closing tag for the guy's 1967
XMAS episode they perform an accapella version of a traditional latin
(?) carol called RIU CHI. It's pretty boss; in recent interviews
Peter Tork has refered to it as one of the best Monkee Musical
moments.. I would agree, there ain't too many tracks in the group's
catalog that feature all 4 vocally.
A version is available on the MISSING LINKS VOL.2 disc from Rhino,
but there's a catch; Davy's not on it, producer Chip Douglas sings
his part( I believe Chip brought this tune to the guys in the first
place - from his MODERN FOLK QUARTET days) So for me, the tv
soundtrack version is the keeper.
