This puts me in mind of a Juluka tune called "Ibhola Lethu
<javascript:z('6Ibhola|Lethu')>." It's essentially a rugby or soccer
chant (can't remember for sure), and if Johnny Clegg can be believed (he
actually did the song the last time I saw Savuka play live) the rough
translation is something like "don't even bother arriving, because we're
going to lay you west."
I don't speak Zulu, but this is one more magnificent song - fantastic
even by Clegg/Mchunu standards....

...it's a lonesome thing to be passing small towns with the
lights shining sideways when the night is down, or going in
strange places with a dog nosing before you and a dog nosing
behind, or drawn to the cities where you'd hear a voice
kissing and talking deep love in every shadow of the ditch,
and you passing on with an empty, hungry stomach failing
from your heart.
