Finally, I received the "Mersey Beat" CD I ordered
back in Oct. It is really cool. It contains songs by
many of the Liverpool acts from around 1963, 1964.
Very cool indeed. What I am looking for are copies of
two records released in 1963 called "This Is Mersey
Beat Vol 1 and vol 2". Can anyone help? I had thought
this disc was a compile of that series but after
looking at the listing of both this doesn't seem to
be. But good never the less. "Mersey Beat" contains
songs by The Kubas, The Fourmost, Valkyries, Black
Knights, Rory Storm and The Hurricanes and more. If
you are true fan of the Cavern Crowd this is a must.
If I could see any bands reunited on the VH 1 show it
would be Haircut 100 and The Mosquitoes (from Gilligan
Island fame).
