sorry for the repeated plug, this is the final email
since the show is this coming Sunday, Jan. 25. Come
early for cupcakes! Early like 8PM. whoohooo!!!

Anna Borg, TallBoy Records founder and carnal
instigator, is hosting a birthday party/rock show.
Tallboy Records made the move to Los Angeles in 2002,
and has established itself as the current home of
eternally quirky, quintessentially Los Angeles band
THE SUGARPLASTIC, as well as offshoot THE KIARA GELLER
BAND. The gathering will follow Aquarian tradition by
being a free-form affair, a loose-knit gang of
scenesters and hangers-on. Cupcakes will be served. A
Monkees tribute band will perform.

11:45 or so Monkees tribute (Featuring Kenny Howes,
how cool is that??)
Andy Creighton formed THE WORLD RECORD after tiring of
the endless cycle of crap open-mikes and solo acoustic
gigs. The trio is composed of Andy, Aditya Rao and
Randy Guss. They perform songs of wit and melody,
filled with quirky warmth and charm.

Eugene Edwards is an award-winning guitarist. His trio
has been described as "Flamboyant and sexy", surely
taking into account Gene's penchant for tight
polyester shirts, and drummer Soupy's awesome
sideburns. THE EUGUNE EDWARDS BAND has been compared
favorably to Nick Lowe, Bruce Springsteen, and Elvis
Costello. He is amazing.

A new chapter in the life of THE SUGARPLASTIC is
beginning in 2004. Renewed interest (was the interest
ever "old"?) came about when TallBoy Records shocked
the modern world with their idea to release a
Sugarplastic full-length, 14 songs, 7 7 inches at a
time. It was so retro, so backwards, so very silly.
Yet each run has sold out (we are onto record 4 in a
series of 7.) Who buys 7 inch records these days? All
kinds of freaks! Freaks who still love The
Sugarplastic. The new Sugarplastic cd, "Will", is
coming out in 2004. You won't believe your ears.

Kiara Geller has spent the better part of his life
playing bass with The Sugarplastic. After a musical
lull, he is letting out every musical idea he's ever
carried with him in his short life. A solo record is
due out in early 2004, and don't expect Sugarplastic
mach 2. THE KIARA GELLER BAND goes to a more rockin'
place. Not to be missed.
