Well, that's certainly true in terms of him being the lead writter,
major talent and voice of the band. However, still, they were a band,
were they not? I saw them many, many times too both before and after
Bob's departure. Still, I feel they never had the same live dynamic
show they did when they were with Bob (maybe for many reasons but
clearly to me one was his absence). They still could put on a great
show but it was clearly a different show and just not AS intense.
(IMHO).
However, your right that the music itself changing is more a
reflection of Paul's changing attutudes then anything else.
Hey, I saw them several times in Madison too between 83-85, maybe we
were in the same audience?
