Their drummer was recently shot, week or so before Christmas. No word
as to his prognosis but I think he's okay.
What a great band ...I'm a sucker when it comes to three pieces in
general ...and jangly three pieces, I'm SO there. Those guys used to
do the best cover of Cream's "Badge." It was cool to guage the
reaction to that selection back in the day. Us, we thought it was
awesome but some of the alterna-hip types in attendance on any given
night back then(85/6 or so) ...well, you could almost feel the cringe.
I remember(dunno why)when the Petey Buck produced "Everywhere Girl"
single came out ... recall one night, a Robyn Hitchcock & The Egyptians
show @ Irving Plaza here in NYC ... August of 85(second time I saw him)
...Andy(BBC)Dunkley used to spin discs at said venue ...anyway, I
remember hearing that song for the first time that night at that show
...over that sound system ...sounded mag-friggin-nificent! Went out
and bought it as soon as possible.
"Father's House" should be issued on CD!! WORD UP!
And, one of the bestest segments on (the recently released on
DVD)"Athens Inside Out" is DSR doing "Golden!"
