Yeah, I sure do. I was a pimply teenager working at Six Flags Over
Mid-America near St. Louis when DJB&H appeared at the outdoor amphitheater
there. Between steamin' up the corn dogs and spinning the cotton candy at my
"snack cart" on the theater's top landing, I caught their hour-long set at 2
p.m., then at 4 p.m. and once more at 6.p.m. My shift ended just before they
came on again at 8.

I learned several things:

Boyce & Hart's "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" is as good a pop song as
anything they wrote for the Monkees.

Stage patter can be just as well-rehearsed as the song performances.

Never confess to the pretty co-worker staffing the Glow-Whip wagon that you
like an uncool band.

Even if you like the band, two near-identical sets in a three-hour period is
enough. Three sets in five hours is just too damn much.
