"Pisces" is proably thier best overall album, "The Birds and Bees & The
Monkees" has a lot of great songs, and their first 2 albums (S/T and More of
The Monkees) bring back a lot of memories of watching the TV show on saturday
mornings in the early 70's.

But my personal favorite is "Headquarters" - the only Monkees LP where all 4
members played everything (except for bass & horns) and the only LP where they
sounded like a genuine band and the equal to the Raiders,Turtles and other
American Garage-Pop bands of the mid 60's.

Rhino Handmade put out a 3 CD set of all the Headquarters sessions two years
ago. While it was a case of "too much filler" it was fascinating to hear how
four actor-musicians became a real band by the end of the sessions.

I couldnt stand "Pool It!" and "Justus" was a big disapointment.
