Better late than never, here's my top 10 for 2003:
1. The Exploding Hearts - Guitar Romantics
2. Visqueen - King Me
3. Mark Bacino - The Million Dollar Milkshake
4. The Model Rockets - Pilot County Suite
5. The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
6. The Pernice Brothers - Yours, Mine and Ours
7. The New Pornographers - Electric Version
8. The Long Winters - When I Pretend to Fall
9. The Minus 5 - Down with Wilco
10. The All Girl Summer Fun Band - 2
Three more that could be in my Top 10 if I thought about it any
longer:
The Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers
Dressy Bessy - Dressy Bessy
The Jayhawks - Rainy Day Music
Favorite Shows of 2003:
Visqueen, The Model Rockets and The Minus 5 at The Crocodile Cafe
Three great bands, one fun night.
The Minus 5, Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent at The Crocodile Cafe
They've still got it - Zombie Heaven.
The Minus 5, Robyn Hitchcock at The Crocodile Cafe
The Minus 5 joined by Jim Sangster and Kurt Bloch (Young Fresh
Fellows) backed Robyn up on a number of songs, including a few Soft
Boys favorites.
Solomon Burke at Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater
The soul legend's still got the voice and some great new material
along with the '60s chestnuts.
