Picking up on Will's thread, I went to Reckless Records yesterday -- it was
their annual blowout sale. Here's my haul --
Everything I bought was used. The only thing I paid full price for was The
Saints' MONKEY PUZZLE -- this is their first post-Ed Kuepper album -- very
good stuff.
Now for the discounted stuff --
Guadalcanal Diary's FLIP FLOP -- 3.75
Fairground Attraction -- THE VERY BEST OF... -- 2.99
Chris Isaak - CHRIS ISAAK -- 4.49
Montage -- MONTAGE -- 6.75 (have this on now -- v. good -- for those
unfamiliar, this is Michael Brown's post-Left Banke band, and is more fine
baroque pop)
Harry Nilsson -- THE LEGENDARY HARRY NILSSON -- 11.25 (3 CD Australian comp
-- I have a similar comp for Hall & Oates, which I'm very happy with)
Ted Nugent -- THE ULTIMATE TED NUGENT -- 8.99 (2 CD comp, missing very
little of his prime stuff, except him cutting himself with a chainsaw the
other day -- Ted, that's Jackyl's shtick!!!)
Al Stewart -- THE YEAR OF THE CAT -- 1.50 (Michael Roux has turned me on to
the joys of Al -- I will pick up some stuff non-used -- but 1.50? Couldn't
pass it up)
Diana Ross & The Supremes -- ANTHOLOGY 6.75 (Two CD set)
Spear Of Destiny -- TIME OF OUR LIVES 2.99 (Not sure if this was wise, but
it has the songs I liked from the tail end of their career)
9 discs for $63 w/tax -- and three multi-disc career spanning discs -- not
bad...
