My first point of comparison would be the Muffs or similar girly-punk bands
of the '80s and '90s.  The Cars, not so much, other than the fact that both
bands are from Boston.  Damone is your basic two-guitar pop-punk band with
a female singer and a songwriter (Dave Pino, also the songwriter in the
equally great Waltham -- although he's no longer in either band) with a
knack for writing extremely catchy choruses.

FROM THE ATTIC ranked extremely high for me as well, and I strongly
recommend it for anyone interested in such things.
