No apologies necessary. I'd been a fan of his best-of disc for ages, then fell in love with "Karma." My wife, meanwhile, has been a diehard fan since...hell, I couldn't even tell you. Since before she was even a teenager, I'd think.

She did, however, remind me that even her man Rick is guilty of the the "reissue, repackage, repackage" scheme...and, frankly, I was so annoyed at the time it happened that I can't believe *I* forgot about it.

When he released his live album a few years ago, he did so first in a limited-edition form. It was expensive as hell...either $50 or $75, I can't remember which...but it was autographed and contained a bonus disc of the "Working Class Dog" demos. Very cool, and my wife loved it, of course...as did I, as the live album was solid and the demos were cool to hear.

But when the regular version of the album was released in stores, it had an exclusive track that hadn't been on the limited-edition version...a cover of the Kinks' "All Day & All Of The Night," if memory serves.

Now THERE'S someone who's not afraid to rip off their fans to get 'em to buy one of everything. I mean, I like Rick's music a hell of a lot, but that was just a shady move...
