I just recently got Dylan's Slow Train Coming-- one of those super duper
SACD remasters. Never heard it before. At the time it came out, it seemed
like reverse sacrilege-- Mr. Counter-culture going religious? It was like
Abby Hoffman becoming a Jr. High School Principal. (Note: I am neither a
Christian nor an avid Dylan fan.)
But I'll tell you, I've been playing the heck out of it. Of course Knopfler
on guitar doesn't hurt. But it is a great song cycle. Much better than
most of that Satanic crap I usually listen to.
