Hey Everyone!
I feel it necessary to tell you about a great
singer-songwriter from Northern VA. One of the best
things about living in Arlington for those who don’t
know, is the Galaxy Hut! http://www.galaxyhut.com
Why? Well because there’s no cover, it’s a great
place to be, the staff is cool, and typically you can
catch great music. A practice that my roommate and I
got into, what looking online for mp3s of people
playing there. Awhile back, this band Devon Green was
there and we loved the music. Gavin Conner is the
force behind Devon Green and is preparing to finish up
his solo CD, Moving on to a New Disaster. He’s got a
band new website, that’s still being worked on but you
can stream some featured tracks there!
Some of the songs, his voice makes me think of Jeff
Tweedy, but in some of the songwriting and lyrics, I
hear Evan Dando, Ben Lee, Wilco, and I’m sure much
more. Saw him the other night and he did Jonathan
Richman’s ‘Back in Your Life’
