Thats true - when people discovered the Remote Control and changed channels
during the dancing bear acts thats when Ed's ratings went downhill.
I was kind of lucky - Goleta Ca was one of the first communities to get Cable
TV in 1968, so I was able to watch all the LA channels as well as the local
one.. I remember the day when got it and watching something called Public
Television after school (some guy named Mr. Rogers). If you didnt have cable
you were stuck with just the local ABC affilate in Santa Barbera and some
blurry LA channels.
When I explain to "kids" that all we had only 3-to-12 TV stations, AM radio
(you were lucky if you were a kid with a AM/FM radio) and Vinyl/Tape for music
in the 60's and 70's they just dont understand...
