My tuppence worth in the Gawd-Rawk debate would be that I find overt
religious lyrics a real major turn-off. In truth, such stuff makes me
cringe. To be honest, listing "the Lord above" or "Jesus Christ" or "God"
in the thank-you credits for an album (or in awards acceptance speeches)
also makes me squirm with embarrassment. I think Americans are generally
more at home in publicly declaring their faith than us Brits. Maybe we are
just a bunch of secular cynics!
B^)
