You know, the thing that generally turns me off about Christian artists is
not necessarily the subject matter, but the fact that it's the ONLY subject
matter. It just seems awfully unimaginative to me.

I mean, I can accept and respect that someone's faith is very important to
them. But surely there are other things in your life too, other things that
you care about. I know that George Harrison was a very spiritual guy, and
"My Sweet Lord" doesn't bother me at all. But if he had done an album
consisting of nothing *but* songs about God and prayer, I don't think I'd be
interested. I wouldn't be very interested in an album of songs about cars or
gardening, either. I ignored the Beach Boys for years because I mistakenly
believe all of their songs were about surfing.

Although I will admit that I do still have my vinyl copy of "Pac-Man Fever"
...
