Its hard to top this ELO trio too:

1) Face The Music
2) A New World Record
3) Out Of The Blue

Jeff Lynne was really on a roll back in 75-77, wasnt he?

A couple of Classic 60's Three-Fers:

Searchers (UK albums)
1) Its The Searchers
2) Sounds Like Searchers
3) Take Me For What Im Worth
....many cover versions but the UK albums hold together very well.

Hollies (UK albums)
1) For Certain Because
2) Evolution
3) Butterfly

Kinks
1) Face To Face
2) Something Else
3) Village Green Preservation Society
4) Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of The British Impire)

Beach Boys
1) Beach Boys Today!
2) Summer Days (and Summer Nights!)
3) Pet Sounds
"Beach Boys Party" doesnt count to me as a studio LP, because its a
(simulated)
"Live" recording and almost-all cover versions - Brian and the boys quickly
recorded it to satisfy Capitol's hunger for a new album while making "Pet
Sounds".
