After listening to SPEAKERBOXX a few times, I looked at the liner notes, and
I was suprised how few samples were used -- the nifty R & B melodic choruses
were almost unanimously written by Big Boi and his collaborators.
But I don't think Billy was accusing Outkast of ripping off a hook -- he
just said it sounded like a prior R & B era -- and while I don't hear new
jack, I thought the same thing -- "The Way You Move"'s chorus is a
throwback. And a damn good one.
