IMHO,

This is different than Aimee Mann or The Thorns. They reissued product that
was on the shelves the day before the "new version" was released. And, as an
aside, I'm curious as to how many copies of those particular releases were
actually sold compared to the original versions. I'm a fan of both but
passed on the re-releases as I'd barely gotten the first versions unwrapped
when the new ones showed up. It almost seems like a cash-grab for the real
fans who pick up new releases as soon as there available

The Toms is something else. Like Bruce says, it's been OOP for years and
only available on eBay. I came to the party too late to pick up the original
and settled for a CD-R. I'll be first in line to pick up the re-reissue so
that (a) I own an original copy complete with original artwork, liner notes,
etc. (b) I get all the accompanying bonus tracks (c) I can destroy all
traces of my illegal, immoral CD-R copy and finally emerge from my spider
hole, free to live in a lawful society once again. Even if I owned the 1997
original, I'd still buy the new version. Support your local indie
artist/label!
