I thought I would mention this because I know there's a lot of Superdrag fans
on the list. Superdrag's final show (for the time being) at the Paradise in
Boston, MA on September 5 is now available on CD as part of the Instant Live
series. For those who haven't heard, Instant Live was begun as a series of live
discs available through Clear Channel performance venues (surprisingly
enough). There have been some changes in the time since--and Clear Channel no longer
owns/produces the recordings themselves--and now my employer, Newbury Comics,
has taken over the venture ourselves.
You can find more info at www.instantliverecordings.com, and buy them at
www.newburycomics.com. Don't expect elaborate album packaging or even a set
list--you need to get that off the website--and the discs themselves are just CD-Rs
though they are officially released product and not bootlegs. I'm listening to
mine now and the sound quality is superb, though, so no one who is a big fan
will be disappointed with these! I've heard that the Superdrag show, which was
part of the original Clear Channel run, is now out of print and only about
300 copies were pressed, so they're extremely limited, but definitely still
available. And I think that it's going for about $12 which is pretty good for a 2
disc set. --Jason
