I'm still tending to buy stuff from 1965-1973. But, for this year
here is what I liked best.
1) Stew: "Something Deeper These Changes". I was slightly
disappointed with last years "Naked Dutch Painter" compared to the
rest of his work. This time, Stew is back with his quietest and most
straight forward disc thus far. It's a gem. Songs full of substance,
reflection and beauty.
2) Sparks "Lil Beethoven": Memory problem here. I may have voted for
this last year but I can't recall. I bought it as an import around a
year ago. Either way, Sparks back in a big way. So, Mike may
delete/ignore this vote if my uncertainty about my voting confusion
dictates this. I leave this very ethical decision to you Mike! :)
3) Pernice Brothers "Yours, Mine and Ours".
4) John Cale: "Hobo Sapiens". Yep, he's back alright. If your a fan
of Cale's, um, find this one.
5) FOW "Interstate Managers"
6) CVS: The Wild Horse. CVS with most diverse sound and one solid
disc. He even does "Downtown" proud.
7) The Tyde: Twice.
That's a short list from a short memory. I know I'll recall something
I missed and hate myself in the morning.
Best Song: Stew "Love Like That"
Best Disc from 2002 that I neglected to buy: Doleful Lion's "Out Like
a Lamb".
Disc that most LOVE that I say "let's just be friends": Rooney
As always, thanks to Sir Michael for his tabulations. Thanks to Lee
for efforts too.
Happy Holidays,
Steve D.
"I also discovered that Gert would turn his engine over for up to an
hour. I don't know why.
Citizens on my street are also partial to this".
