I thought it was the end of the line before reading this thread today. After digging around the Superdrag site, it looks like Sam was indeed the bassist of choice at that show. And while I'm glad for anyone in that Boston audience in September, given the hullabaloo about "Sam's last shows!" in June, I feel like the two Nashville shows I saw that week in June (the "secret" Friday rehearsal show at the Slow Bar, and Saturday's official "last Sam show" at the Exit/In) are just a shade less special now. I know it's a silly complaint, given that those June shows were terrific and the Boston show was probably something that happened by near-accident, but it feels weird to know that there was this "real last show" coda that played out later.
Do I have to turn in my "Goodbye Sam" button to the nearest authorities?
