I just wanted to add a quick recommendation for the new Rosenbergs (or what I've heard of it anyway). I liked the last one enough, but the four songs I've heard from this new one (three from the free EP available with puchases at Not Lame, and one from the most recent IPO comp) all blow it all away. They seem to have found how to hone their sound and be a bit more direct, and in the process have really produced some power-pop nuggets. "Department Store Girl" is your typical uptempo, almost FOW-like power-popper, but I think the real gem is "Birds of a Feather" which sounds like a strange Sesame Street-goes-saccharine Merseybeat love song. In short it's so cute and happy that it's irresistible.
I'd highly recommend to anyone who is placing an order at Not Lame to throw this EP into your basket (after all, it's free). I hope the album as a whole is this good! --Jason
