A bit late in passing along the highlights of the 6th annual Bopptopia show
this last weekend. Got there late for The Things , a Garage influenced band
with a female singer, enjoyed what I heard so will have to make a point of
checking them out in the future. Enjoyed sets from NJ wacky O-matics and
e.joseph (Ed Neenan and friends).

Myracle Brah, provided the highlight of the evening, and did a short set of
tributes to bands that have played past Bopptopia. So they did "Rocket
Ship" by Starbelly and "Yearbook" Splitsville with Andy on vocals, "Miss
Fortune" Love Nut with Paul K. and Joe Parsons sang Greenberry Woods
"Trampoline". A Beltways and Montgomery Cliffs song was served up as well.
Splitsville concluded my portion of the evening with several songs from the
new record. I missed seeing Jones Falls and Vulgaria due to forecast of
lousy weather and a date the following day with the extended version of the
Two Towers in the theatre.

It's being reported on the Romantics webstie that Brad Elvis is working with
the band as a possible replacement for Clem Burke for an upcoming tour.
Clem being the one who recommended Brad as the replacement. Got to see the
Romantics do their recent XM Radio taping in front of maybe 20 people which
was amazing. Johnny B on drums was handling stick duties for that session.
The band sounded great, probably truer to their original roots. Can't wait
to see them rock out in the clubs again. Maybe the Handcuffs can be the
support on the tour.
