I think Stewart is right here.  BNL originally made a smallish name for
themselves BECAUSE they were a silly band.  The first two songs I heard
by them were "If I had A Million Dollars" and "Be My Yoko Ono" and you
cant get sillier then that.  This doesnt mean that they cannot show a
more serious side, but their silly stuff is just a part of them.  And
they do it really well.  I think it would be a mistake for them to try to
be serious all the time in a misguided attempt to achieve "credibility." 
It would take them away from one of their strengths.  As it would for FOW
as well.

All of this puts me in mind of Fastball, who wanted so desperately NOT to
be considered a power pop band that they couldnt see that it was only
their power pop stuff that was any good.
