If you want to see what an albatross being labelled a "joke band" can be,
look no further than Barenaked Ladies.
Buried deep in their records are some serious tunes (To wit, the lovely
"When I Fall," from Born on a Pirate Ship), but because of wacky stage
antics and the horrid "One Week," they're pretty much painted into a corner
no matter what they do.
