FILM THE DJ: After having his life spotlighted in George
Hickenlooper's documentary Mayor of the Sunset Strip, legendary L.A.
disc jockey Rodney Binghenheimer's story is going the fictional big
screen route. Warner Bros. and Mad Chance Productions' Andrew Lazar,
who produced George Clooney's Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and the
Wachowski Brothers' first movie Bound, has signed on to the project.
A writer will be hired shortly.
The doc, which premiered at the L.A. Film Festival last spring, will
be released nationally next year by First Look Media and Lakeshore
Entertainment. (12/17p)
