Mick Taylor was sort of pissed off that stuff he recorded with them ended up on
this record, but he wasn't given credit. Where was it that a read a piece about
Start Me Up? This was something they'd recorded several times, and shelved. It
was Chris Kimsey maybe who did the work pulling that out and rebuilding it. That
article must have been in Mix or Tape Op....

There are all those bootlegs with the original tracks like Black Limo. These
early takes are usually longer and not so slick.

Emotional Rescue isn't dull is it? Not the copy I have. Summer Romance, She's So
Cold, the Keith Ballad. Another favorite of mine.

I always looked at Some Girls and Emotional Rescuer as the twins to Aftermath
and Buttons. Real step forward for the band those were.

A while back I was telling Deniz Tek how it was clear that December's Children
was such a throw together of odds and ends, some pretty old. He got excited and
started tellin' me what a great record it is!! Yeah, I suppose it is, but after
Out Of Our Heads it seemed a little bit of a let down. When I did finally get
one of the new cds, I was surprised how good it actually held together. But then
I know people who think Metamorphosis is such a great Stones album!!

I pulled out Bridges To Babylon this morning and played the songs Josh
suggested. Very good, even if they were all ballads.

Like I was pointing out, it's the Stones, they are usually doing something good.
Not many bands I can say that about after making records for 40 years.
