I generally hate to be the bearer of bad tidings. So you can imagine how
bummed I was to find that, while working the merch table at this year's IPO
in NY during Field Trip's set, I had to tell people that, no, their record
was still a week or two away and we didn't have any. (John Hastie, I'm
talking to you.)
So I'm pleased to be able to report that their brand spanking new ep is
ready to pre-order from Not Lame or via their own website:

band site and there are songs and samples to download and its just plain
cool. If the record is anything like their IPO set this year, it'll be a
good one. Hell, after they were done I stopped lusting after Stacey's Mom
and went back to my roots, lusting after Angelina Jolie.
MMmmmm.... Angelina....
Field Trip played, I think, their first ever gig at IPO 2002 (or one of
their very first.) That was a fine set, totally belying the band's newness.
Field Trip leader Cord Weiss, from Star Collector, is an Audities list
member but too modest a fella to tout his band (he's also by all accounts a
real nice guy). He moved from Atlanta to NY to start this new band (which
although I've never tried it I have to figure is not easy) and in the year
since I first saw them the band basically turned over, songs got writ, and a
solid pop vibe emerged. I am going to go order the record right now. And
so is John Hastie.
(Note: the author of this email is not affiliated with Field Trip or any of

list, has seen them twice, bought the Star Collector album, and is a fan.)
