If I heard someone cover it, i'd be amazed and
gratified just because it is a unique choice and such
a worthy band, but i don't like it on Woodface (as
someone else said, i feel like i have to prepare
myself for it, along with "Tall Trees;" perhaps it was
just the sunnier pop i was looking for when i was
listening to that cd over and over and over and over
and OVER.) I suppose it's hard to separate the fact
that I am an american from the fact that i find it a
bit heavy-handed and not all that funny of a satire,
but if mike bennett is right i am more apt to blame
the fact that i really dislike Tim's work vs. Neil's,
because i never found him to be as subtle or as crafty
a songwriter. Not that Neil was going to bust out
with "A Modest Proposal" since his songwriting is
always pretty forthright also, but at least his
honesty seems to be on a more personal level and that
makes it seem less ham-handed somehow? I dunno.

That said, I also defend anyone's right to attack
Andrew Lloyd Weber.
