The complete Neon Philharmonic is now available for pre-order from Rhino
Handmade. It's a 2CD set with everything they recorded for Warner Brothers:
Both albums, mono single versions of songs, both sides of their non-LP singles,
and some unreleased tracks.
I consider the Neon Philharmonic to be one of the great (mostly) unheralded lush pop
groups of all time. Lot's of people know "Morning Girl", but few know their two
excellent albums. (One of which was reissued by Sundazed a few years ago; the other
of which has never before been available on CD). Fans of people like Jimmy Webb should
love this...
Well, I'm excited, anyway. Now I can chuck that CD I made combining the two albums. (The
first taken from the CD reissue and the second from a commercial pre-recorded reel-to-reel).
First time I think in my entire life I've ever paid $40 for a 2CD set!
