Dan also wrote a great holiday tune, "What a Year for a New Year", found
on last year's comp "Maybe This Christmas". Other artists of note on
the CD include Neil Finn, Phantom Planet, Ben Folds (pretty annoying
here, much to my chagrin), Coldplay, Ron Sexsmith. But for all 'round
(mostly) cool yule tunes, XFM's "It's a Cool Cool Christmas" can't be
beat. Grandaddy, Dandy Warhols, Webb Brothers, Eels, Teenage Fanclub,
and then some.
Back to Mr. Wilson (not to be confused with Mr. Segarini "Wilson"), his
brother Matt is equally talented (is he gonna do another solo album?),
and I have a major soft spot for the stuff they did together as Trip
Shakespeare back in the day.
As for Candy Butchers... Is the new one publicly available??? I thought
I read on Mike Viola's website the other day that it'll be released in
January. I'm salivating for it, for sure.
