I may have mentioned this before, and pardon me if I have,
but if you're a fan of "Memphis late 70's power pop" a la
Big Star, and Van Duren, then you owe it to yourself to
check out Prix -- they don't have a write up on All Music
Guide, or at least there wasn't a bio or review the last time
I checked, but you can read about them on the Not Lame
website (and heck, why not buy the CD from them too!).
Go here: http://makeashorterlink.com/?O391219B6
and listen to mp3's. Here's what it says on the Not Lame
page:

"A band renowned to be a proto-type superstar power
pop band from Memphis in the mid/late 70`s and featuring
Alex Chilton, Tommy Hoehn and Jon Tiven (The Yankees
whose classic LP is due for reissue in the summer of 2002)!
These 11 songs feature early band renditions of songs later
known by the artists participating and this is a must have for
70`s power pop fans and collectors, a holy grail of sorts.
Songs: Girl, She Might Look My Way, Love You Tonight,
Love You All Day Long, Zero, Everytime I Close My Eyes,
Take Me Home & Make Me Like It, Free Again, Run Run
Runaway, All The Time, Follow You."
