The Zombies own all the material they recorded for Decca and Columbia in
the UK
(originally released on Parrot/London and Date records in the USA) and have
licensed those recordings to a myriad of budget labels in the UK over the
years. Those "best of" CDs are usually easy to find (check amazon.com) but
many
of those comps have poor sound quality, a mish-mash of single/LP tracks and
sometimes use inferior tape sources, or bad stereo mixes that were done by
Decca in 1969 after they left the label.

The label that has done the best job on thier catalog is Big Beat records in
the UK - if you have the cash I suggest getting the "Zombies Heaven" box set
that has everything the group recorded in thier best recorded versions, a
CD of
"live at the BBC" tracks and a outstanding bio/track listing/disography.

If you dont want to spend a lot of money I reccomend getting Big Beat's single
CD version of "Odessy and Oracle" (which contains the original stereo and mono
albums) and "Begin Here". Another great CD is Big Beat's "Decca Stereo
Anthology" which has all thier Decca-era recordings remixed in stereo thats
correct to the mono versions. The sound quality is outstanding.

For used CD bargain hunters look for Rhino's reissue of "Odessy & Oracle" (not
a bad remaster), or any Zombies collections from DCC or See For Miles. Stay
away from the ones from Castle Communications.

single best-of disc, but I see that there a few to choose from. I am relying
