I know that Spock's Beard "Snow" caught the ears of several list members,
myself included. Morse just released his first post-SB solo, the double CD
set "Testimony".
The sound of "Testimony" is not far removed from "Snow"...prog rock
instrumentals mixed with straight ahead pop songs with excellent vocals.
It's a biography of sorts, tracing Morse's evolution from rock and roller to
devout Christian. It is an overtly Christian release...Morse incorporates
his Christianity into his songs much differently than say, The Elms.
Probably half the songs have the words "God" or "Jesus" in the titles.
I can deal with that, but after several listens I just find "Testimony" to
be, well....average. "Snow" was just such a knockout, I guess you shouldn't
expect 2 in a row. Anybody else heard this?
Greg
