Hey! I know that this is TOTALLY late notice, but...
There's this wicked, searing power-pop band from Minneapolis called The Melismatics (www.melismatics.com) and they're playing at The Empty Bottle on Sunday Night, opening for The Hang Ups (remember *them*?) and My Secret Service. Their new record is out on Susstones! Remember The Dig? The Slugs? The Blue-Up? Uh-huh, *that* Susstones!
Cover is $7. 9:30 showtime. No, I don't work for The Melismatics, I just happened to be one of 5 people in the audience at their last Chicago show (i wasn't *there* for them either) and they blew me away.
Pre-show beer and snacks at my place, within walking distance of the Empty Bottle, starts at 7pm. We'll all go to the show together around 9ish. Cover is free. <g>
