"Regarding the worst audience members, I had the unfortunate experience of
performing, solo acoustic, for these people. Wow! It took a lot of will
power
not to walk off stage after two numbers because these guys and gals were
there
to drink, converse, laugh, scream... etc. I could hardly hear myself play,
much less think. I thought of Nico telling the Siouxsie and the Banshee's
crowd, "If I had a machine gun, I'd kill you!" They sure as hell weren't
there to
hear any music.

I had a great time anyway performing that afternoon and later that night
with
The Cheepskates. David, next time, no more pub tours coinciding with IPO!"

Had a similar experience last year. After about four months of trying to set
a date and venue for a birthday party for ten or so people having a certain
birthday, I found Kenny's Castaway (which has a wall size mural of the
Smithereens.) It had a back room with a stage and lots of tables and space.
Plus no charge for using the room. We had about 40 people there. Then the
pub crawl started and the population went up by a factor of ten in half an
hour or so. We had to leave because of the noise and crowding.

Timing is everything. Now I make sure that things don't hit the same time as
the Pub Crawls...
