Thanks for the tip, Hersh. I heard a bit of that on KCRW and I'll have to
check it out.
BTW, regarding my post about the Soul Tribute show, someone asked me
off-list if it was "anything like a minstrel show." And in re-reading my
original wording, I can almost --almost-- see where she might have gotten
that idea.
But just in case other listmembers may have had a similar reaction, the
answer is "HELL NO!" The show was a loving, dedicated tribute --as
advertised-- to a rich and rewarding era and genre. All celebration, no
mocking or condescension. The other Auditeers who were there can attest to
that.

np: coincidentally enough, Brian Kassan's SOTT 17 contribution, IF IT AIN'T
BAROQUE, DON'T FIX IT. The coincidence is that Brian was one of the
aforementioned Auditeers in the soul gig audience. Mr. Kassan has assembled
a 25-track compilation of the prettier side of psych-pop, but somehow
neglected to include anything by his own band, Chewy Marble, which has been
known to travel that particular road. Brian, you should have slipped
something in under a pseudonym and made us guess where it came from!
