I've loved the Pearlfishers music for years. I think David Scott is a
unique talent that can appeal to a wide variety of music fans, but
especially if you like an engaging mix of Rundgren, Bacharach and
McCartney. I will admit that the new Pearlies hasn't found its way into
my player nearly as much as the previous three CDs, but that's more a
function of so much great stuff coming out this year than it is a
reflection of "Sky Meadows".
It sounds like you've tried to get into the CD and it just hasn't worked
any magic on you. I honestly doubt that's about hometown origins as much
as it is about where you are musically.
But there is an old adage that says: "You're never a hero in your own
home town."
