You know how you hear a song & it's kinda catchy but the production or
presentation isn't quite up your alley. Well this one I'm coming at from a
different angle but ending up with the same results. I love Rancid & I
think they make some of the catchiest Clash-derived pop-punk since...well
The Clash. Tim Armstrong co-wrote much of the Pink album (I guess the 4
Non-Blondes chick co-wrote the rest) and I read that Rancid plays on some of
the tracks, but I can't really hear it. There goes Rancid's
street-cred...but hey, ya gotta eat...and have a nice house...and drive a
nice car...and buy designer drugs...and pick up one of those used Leer
Jets...
Pretty catchy album - The songs sound kinda like Rancid with a chick singer
(but not like The Distillers)...More like Clash-derived dance-pop (but not
like Rock The Casbah)...More like it's kinda catchy but the production
(slick) and presentation (lite Top40 dance pop) isn't quite up my alley -
But I do like about 70% of the Mandy Moore album.
