I've bought the Hello From Waveland 'Strangeways' cd with few
references, and I have to say it's a very positive surprise. Excellent
stuff. I would describe their album as a mix of the more mature side of
power pop with the poppier side of folk rock/americana. Something like
Peter Bruntnell fronting the Bigger Lovers, with sort of REM's
'Automatic for the People' mood, and also that album's laid back, easy,
unpretentious flow. Highly recommended for fans of early Wilco, Witness
UK, Jolene, Nadine, and the such, but please keep in mind, it's mostly
'poppier' than these bands. For those of you into both Miles Of Music
and Audities stuff.

Rafael.
